From Alison Davis:
This is my third year of service on the WWI Board. When I applied to join the board in January 2015, I had held different positions in WW in Europe, such as registrar, President in the UK, Circles guide and FIT/Fac. I had travelled to the US, France, and South Africa to staff. I now wanted to be of service to WW in a new capacity and discover more about how our organization works at the International level.
I knew that if I was accepted, I would be the first woman from outside the US and Canada to serve on the WWI board! To my great joy, I was given the role of Outreach Director. I was thrilled, this was the opportunity to serve Internationally and to give my gifts earned from years of International living and communicating. I hope that other women from outside the US will follow me and be inspired to apply too, making this board more and more truly International.
I have been interested in learning and teaching about the concept of Leading from the Feminine for many years, but little did I know that by joining the WWI Board, I would find a place where WW women were already practising Feminine Leadership and were eager to grow and evolve in this direction.
What a joy it was for me to bathe in this balanced, stimulating feminine energy of blessing, caring, clear communication, compassion, connection, creativity, evolution, expression, fairness, flow, inspiration, intuition, kindness, love, nurture and respect. I have learnt how to pull up the appropriate energy in the moment in order to be my best. It’s a place where I’ve been able to practise using my warrior energy, and to play with the different archetypal energies available to me. In short, it’s a great opportunity to put all that we learn on WW workshops into practice!
I’ve found it to be a place where new possibilities emerge, and where women are fully present to themselves and to each other. We are spiritual, heartful and attentive to each other’s well being. We rejoice in the success of others, we are decisive and reflective and value clarity of thought. We learn to have the courage to do what is right and to be loyal to the greater good. I have grown in confidence and strength, and got to know myself so much better. It’s a place where I truly feel safe, valued and nurtured.
